The bail granted to Abdulrasheed Maina, former Chairman defunct Pension Reformed Task Team (PRTT) has been revoked by a federal high court which sat on Wednesday November 18 in Abuja.
Justice Okon Abang who made the ruling following an application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s prosecuting counsel, Mr Mohammed Abubakar, also issued a bench warrant to security agencies for Maina’s arrest anywhere he is sighted. They are to produce him in court “without delay” after it is effected.
Abang also announced that the defendant’s trial would proceed in his absence pending when he is produced in court.
The Judge also fixed November 23 for Maina’s surety, Senator Ali Ndume, to appear in court to show cause why he should not be remanded in prison and forfeit his N500m bail bond pending when he would be able to produce the defendant.
